Who’s behind Celtic Crust?

Celtic Crust was essentially born from the impulsive buying of a mobile wood fired pizza catering trailer.

Now for a bit about us.

I’ve always been into cooking at home from helping to bake cakes (mainly helping to clean the mixing bowls..) to rustling up a curry. Hence why I’m a fan of a ‘home cooking’ style, focusing on simple ingredients, but delivering really tasty flavours. Portion sizing if often generous to ensure everyone is well fed and watered.

My catering experience is essentially self taught, gathering recipes from: family cookbooks, modern recipe books and from content online. My only professional catering experience comes from summer seasons working evenings in a local pub and restaurant after working at the beach, jumping in the sea during the day.

I will be kept busy with the day to day running by throwing dough and rustling up pizzas and dessert for the lovely patrons.

I also took an interest in cooking from an early age, most of all pasta dishes. Continuing this interest (in food and catering) though Sea Cadets as a cooksteward, often helping at officer dinners. Since then I started a Hospitality Business Management degree with Culinary Arts at Sheffield Hallam University. During this time I gained valuable work experience in some of the countries finest establishments like Summer Lodge Hotel in Dorset. Post degree I had the opportunity to join the Rafters team as assistant manager, now I’m currently residing at Coast Restaurant in Saundersfoot. Through working I have focused my enthusiasm on fine dining.

Some of my favourite things are wine, gin and Italian food. I think that now leaves me with the enviable title of, ‘chief recipe tester’. Plus if you would like to know the perfect complimenting drink to our pizzas, let me know.

Ever since moving to Fishguard we have want to dip our hand into the catering and hospitality industry ourselves. We are now starting with a small mobile catering trailer. Celtic Crust are going to be touring our wares around North Pembrokeshire in 2018. We’re going to be attending several events throughout the season so we hope to share what we have created with you.

If you would like us to attend an event (or occasion) of yours please get in touch. We are available for private catering and other social events like festivals, shows and weddings.
